Danny Riesmeyer - McCue Strong
On November 4, I will be climbing all 103 flights of stairs of the famous Willis Tower in Chicago through an event called SkyRise. This isn't just my routine weekend work out but instead for something that has become very important to me. That is, to raise funds for the Shirely Ryan AbilityLab in downtown Chicago.
This past summer my (soon to be) father in law, Andy McCue, suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury; an event that turns lives upside down. The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab became his home for the next six plus weeks following being released from the ICU. During his stay at the facility Andy received premier occupational and physical therapy from the very best. Cutting edge technology, outstanding medical care, and more importantly, Andy's determination allowed him to walk out of the rehab facility to head home to Kansas City. Witnessing the Shirely Ryan AbilityLab being there for families and individuals in a time of need as if it were their own inspires me to participate as a member of the McCue Strong team.
In writing this e-mail I ask family and friends to consider donating to this cause. All donations will go towards the non-profit hospital enabling continued research and providing patients with world-class care on the road to recovery. No donation is too small and anyone wanting to contribute by partaking in the event can contact me for details. Thank you for your support.
