Welcome to Jamee's Fund Raising Page
31 years ago I started my life as an Occupational Therapist and have been blessed everyday to work at a place that allows me to impact many people. I fully believe it is the the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the RIC), that puts people's healing first. We strive to be #1 and we have the honor of being known as the nation's #1 and Best Rehabilitation hospital, according to US News and World Report. This is our 28th consecutive year in receiving such honors. It is a big accomplishment and I am proud to be part of this incredible team.
Once again, I have decided to climb to the top again of the Willis (Sears Tower) to raise funds for – the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab! This past year - lots of reasons to climb. My best friend has survived breast cancer, another one a stroke and 2 of my boys are challenged with Type 1 Diabetes and continue to fight back. Today I continue to work as an OT and as an Education Program Manager in the Henry B. Betts LIFE Center. I assist people daily and I design learning sessions for young children and adults to empower them to understand their family member's trauma in a healing way. Each child I educate walks away with their own personal book. I mentor staff, educate new patients and families about their disability and I challenge myself daily to expand my knowledge. I LOVE educating people and empowering them. I strive to live LIFE for the moment as I have always done.
The funds raised through SkyRise Chicago 2018 will directly support advances in patient care and cutting-edge research at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
SkyRise Chicago is truly a special event to me as it allows me to raise funds for a non-for-profit hospital that is making a HUGE difference in many people's lives, including mine. Thank you for any support you can give.
