Welcome To My SkyRise Page!
My stroke happened 4 1/2 years ago and my mind and body are still getting stronger every day. I have some physical weakness and my the speech is a bit choppy, but I'm doing great.
It really has been a marathon of a recovery, working toward rebuilding my life, and it finally paid off. I have some wonderful news: on November 26 of last year I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Asher Paul Levin!
After that short hiatus, I am focusing again on my recovery. Every day I continue to do some therapy: either physical or speech. I am so indebted to the therapists and institutions that have fought alongside me. They are what has kept me feeling positive and motivated. This is the reason why I continue to participate in SkyRise Chicago.
SkyRise Chicago is the planet's tallest indoor urban stair climb and hand-cycle event, taking place at the Willis (Sears) Tower on November 5, 2017. SkyRise Chicago benefits the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), the #1 rehabilitation hospital in America. The RIC made a huge difference for me, and I want everyone to have access to such outstanding care.
SkyRise Chicago is the only stair climb open to individuals of varying physical abilities in the world. Every dollar raised will support RIC's cutting-edge patient care and innovative research, offering their patients the greatest hope for the future.
Every day is a miracle and I feel so lucky to be alive--every single day. Asher is my reward.
