Welcome to My Personal Page
Thanks for visiting my personal page and for supporting me.
I am taking part in RIC SkyRise Chicago by taking on the highest tower climb on the continent at the Willis Tower and raising funds to benefit the nation's best rehabilitation hospital – The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) As most of you know I suffered a ruptured brain annuerysm, or subacharonoid brain hemmorage on September 9, 2011. After my release from the hospital in October, 2011 I was transferred to The Rehabilition Institute of Chicago (RIC). It was on November 4, 2011 that CEO Joanne Smith of RIC stopped by the 8th Floor at RIC to check on Michelle and me and talked to us about this fundraising event. Even though I could not walk down the hallway on my own at that time, it was then that I promised her I would walk up Willis Tower and help her raise funds each year. I want to help repay the many nurses, doctors, therapists, other patients who have helped me on my journey to a full recovery from this life changing injury. I have been training hard again this year and hope to improve on my time from last year. It is a wonderful event and we hope this year that some of you will want to climb with us.
SkyRise Chicago is a first-of-its-kind event - the only tower climb in the world to offer two modes of participation - by foot up the Willis Tower stairs and by hand via stationary hand cycling the equivalent! These options will allow participation in SkyRise Chicago for individuals of varying ability.
RIC provides world-class rehabilitation care to patients - children and adults - from around the globe for traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, as well as stroke and cancer. The funds raised through SkyRise Chicago will directly impact patients' lives by supporting advances in patient care and cutting-edge research at RIC.
Help me as I challenge myself physically and mentally to help RIC, a not-for profit hospital organization, to continue to serve as the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospital providing patients world-class care for the brightest possible future.
The Sky's the Limit!
