Welcome to My Personal Page
This is the 10th year that I am taking part in RIC SkyRise Chicago, climbing the Willis Tower to raise funds to benefit the nation's best rehabilitation hospital.
The Shirley Ryan Ability Lab! 103 Flights, 2109 steps on Sunday, November 3, 2019!
The hospital provides world-class rehabilitation care to patients from around the globe with traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, as well as stroke and cancer. The funds raised through SkyRise Chicago will directly impact patients' lives by supporting advances in patient care and cutting-edge research at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
I work in the Henry B. Betts LIFE Center, a multimedia education center for people with disabilities, their families, health care professionals and the community. The LIFE Center helps people through resource referrals, patient and family education programs, peer mentoring service, computer assistance and special events. The LIFE website supports people across the globe with web traffic surpassing over 13,000 hits per month!
Most people think this type of care is available everywhere, but it isn't. The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab's discovery of best practice care and technology is made possible through philanthropic support. Each and every contribution to this cause, no matter what size, makes a measurable difference.
I personally have worked in physical rehabilitation for twenty-seven years. In addition, my father was an inpatient at the hospital and is currently receiving care for Parkinson's. I am committed to the hospital, it's patients, mission and inspired to face this challenge! Thank you very much for helping us, help others.
Help others learn more about physical disabilities and resources that promote productivity and active community participation to acheive their greatest and fullest participation in LIFE.
